I was hoping to get this project out on the water this weekend to see how it runs after having the carb rebuilt. However, with tranny issues and bad weather, that got put on hold so I figured I would use the weekend clean up the exterior. It ending up being a lot of work but I was pretty happy with the results. I had originally thought I would have an updated decals made but I kind of like the way it looks without. What are your thoughts? First pic is how I bought it. The second two are after a lot of elbow grease this weekend.

something other than what was on it when you got it. I'm not a huge" naked" guy but it looks pretty good as is. how about a new wave symbol on the back. something subtle

I think maybe these on each side in the middle in white:

I went a totally different direction with my decals, but as you can tell, the white decal on a solid background really pops:

I used
www.letteringonthecheap.com
They have a really cool interface that allows you to design graphics for your boat, very reasonably priced too.
To each his own, but my opinion is it needs something.

Wow that looks exactly like my boat. Same colors. I did the same thing last year. Took all the lettering off wet sanded. My buddies told me to leave it blank. But I decided to go with the wave and supra logo. I put on the supra logo and it was so much whiter than my white gelcoat it looked terrible. Tore it off and left it blank. If you don't think your white gelcoat isn't faded. Put a brand new white sticker on the teal and you will find it is.

Maybe just a small Supra name on the rear and a detail strip at the bottom between the teal and white that matches the decal. Not white though. Maybe a carbon fiber black decal. Subtle. Or a chrome one.

have a teal/white 89 conbrio. my wave is a soft blue that is very subtle against the teal--rather that white ! this is factory OEM.

Thanks for all the input and suggestions for decal sources. The heads up about the white discoloration is something I had not considered but makes sense. Currently I am leaning toward either a small logo with the modern wave near the rear of the boat or nothing at all. I am old and not all that flashy. Besides, the clean lines of the supra IMO kind of speak for themselves without the need to advertise it.

You should get new decals. I suggest, The old Supra Logo, and Comp... My boat is very close in color to yours... And pics from our boat when parents bought it back in 1994, the boat just looks sexy on the water... Would love to polish my gel coat back to a mirror...

Do this with out the TS6M following the Comp... Would look sexy as hell :P
I vote a carton of the dog bare-pawing on a supra logo. Or leave it blank.

Thanks I'm thinking about pulling the new decals off in the spring and installing the chrome raised letter ones. 13134

Cool. The previous owner had the chrome raised letter "LAUNCH" decal on the stern of the boat since he was under the false impression that sunsport and lauch hulls were the same. Since I'm NOT one to be a poser, I took it off.

That's the same logo I had. I loved how it looked. I just did not like the way it made my white gelcoat look yellowish

I had supraadict photoshop all my options and liked the plain supra the best. The wave with the large letters looked too busy in the center of the boat.

My first preference is naked, but if you must have something my choice would be a small, old-school Supra wave at the back. I'm not a fan of putting different style branding on a classic.

So, I'm guessing you wouldn't care too much for this then huh?

EWWWW!!!! UGLY!!!!!
Titan, I am with you, keep it original, plus it looks nice and you can read it with it being obnoxious. I think all boats used to look really nice, but have really gotten away from true style...

That tower is horrible. Don't like the camo Sea-Dek on the platform either.
Honestly, it's not the worst wrap I've seen. Most wraps for some reason are UBER busy. This one is busy, but I might be able to tolerate it for a while. That tower if FUGLY. Doesn't fit the boat at all.

I don't mind the wrap. Not as bad as some I have seen. The inside is a little too much for me with the wraps.
