Took the pump out last week and waited for parts. Put the new impeller in today and now cant remember if the top is the inlet or the bottom. This is on a 03 Supra Launch with Assault Vdrive with crank mounted pump. Dumb question I know but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. Usually when that happens to me its because its so obvous.

bump the key to see which way the belts spin. that's the direction the impeller will spin.

Ok, you are going to have to do what salty said above and bump the starter or have someone do it so you can see which way the rotation is on the engine. If as you look at the pump as you took the picture the engine rotates clockwise, then the bottom should be the pickup and the top should be the output. Obviously it will be reversed with counterclockwise rotation.

Is it just me or is there an arrow on there, stamped into the pump housing, between the two hose barb fittings? It looks like it's pointing CCW. The head of the arrow is near (to the right in the picture) the I in Indmar.

After looking at it closer, it does look like an arrow denoting CCW rotation.

the arrow goes both ways and " inlet" is marked on both. after looking at it more and using my brain I believe the bottom is the inlet since the engine turns counter clockwise from looking at it from the flywheel.
