So I'm pulling my boat this weekend. Going to winterize it Sunday. My pcm manual says 40w40 is that right? What does everyone use?

I use straight 40 weight, not 40w40. But I do not use my boat when it is cold out(below 50-60 degrees)

Anyone use 20w50?

We use 20-40 full synthetic mercruiser, or 25-40 Sierra synthetic blend most everything that comes in to the shop. Personally I use the full synthetic in my boat.

I have the 351. I would still use the same oil if I had a new Chevy engine. The mercruiser oil is great stuff.

Never would have thought about getting mercruiser oil. I use it in all my 2 strokes and it is great oil.

454 and I typically run Valvoline 10w40. If something else is on sale or significantly cheaper I'll go with another brand. Always cheap dino oil in my engines. Purolator filters though.

I use the 20w50 in my race engines. I ran straight 40 in my drag boat engine, but upon tear down found it had sludge buildup. It didn't get hot enough to dissipate the condensation.

I went with 25w40. Talked to skidim and bakers they both recommend that.

The book on mine says to use 15W-40, so that is what I use.
