I'm guessing this one falls under the "rare" category. I've never seen one like this before, but I freaking love it!!! This one was apparently for sale in our area (knoxville). Wish I had seen the ad. Someone actually posted an ad looking for this boat, which is how I got the pictures. This thing is just plain sexy as hell. Now this would go well in my shop.

Notice it says barefoot competition ski boat.

wow. Has cool factor to it. Would be interested to see if it truly is special. What made the Barefoot Nautique special from the Dominique (Martinique's little brother) was that the Dominique had a 351W and the Barefoot Nautique came standard with 330HP 454 BB.

I wondered if it might be a big block as well. But the 351w could easily provide the power for barefooting. We used to do it behind our old comp all the time. I don't think the extra HP could offset the extra weight.

I do want to learn more about this thing though.

haha, well for CC it was well you can get the 230HP 351W or add 250lbs and you can get 330HP 454. LOL. Although, the bottom end power of a 454 is much higher than that of a 351W...

I think it is a older boat painted black with a few extra nice stickers. Notice the vinyl how it matches in colour so perfect from the trailer to the numbers and the supra on the boat. NTM its a late 80's trailer with a new Supra logo from the Launch era too.

She is sexy and well done.

Supra has used that logo on the trailer for a long time 13493
Original trailer on my 95.

Stupid me on the trailer.... Long day. The Supra reminds me of the 90's font from the La Brista.

Have the same font on my 89 combrio and trailer

I'm going with a legit boat. This was being sold in Knoxville, 20 minutes from Supra HQ. My guess is, this was a special order for someone from Supra, and they've had it the whole time. The trailer is a dead on match to my Saltare trailer currently.

But seeing as it's a double axle, 92supracomp may be right. It could be a 454. WHICH WOULD BE BADASS!!!!!! I still find it hard to believe as the doghouse on my 454 is WAY bigger than the doghouse on my 351w Comp and Mariah. So I still think it might be a 351w. But depending on the year since the trailer looks newer, there is also a strong chance this is a Comp Classic (all composite). That would also explain the solid color pattern. Even the swim platform is black.

There are so many questions I want to ask about this boat.

Haugy are all comp classics composite?

That all black comp is beAutifal but could you imagine how hard it would be to keep clean. My black truck looks grey after a few drops of rain. I couldn't imagine trying to keep a black boat clean. With that said I want one!

If it is a Comp Classic, yes. The easiest way to tell is the year. The Classics were only made for two years, 96/97. They look just like a mid 80's model but are all composite.

They are the best Comp you can get if you are a Comp fan. All original design, modern composite hull, Fuel inject 351 with Gt-40 heads. Everything great about the comp, all in one.

And yeah, that black would be hard to keep clean, and normally I don't like all black boats, but this one I WANT.

Don't tell me that. :D

I emailed the creator of the craigslist ad asking about the boat. I told him we were having a discussion about it, and just wanted some more info. Haven't heard back.

Haugy if you want to find the boat I would run the TN tags through the secretary of State for the region. Somewhere, someone must have some connections....

I saw the original ad. If I remember correctly it is a 351. It is a pre-90s boat that was built as you see it from the factory. It was a one off special order by someone who was a friend of the president of supra at the time. I'm thinking that the guy who was selling it was the second owner. I think the price was somewhere around $7,000. It was a low hours boat that has always been garaged.

I'm happy to see that the interior is at least white. I like a clean black boat as much as anyone, but black interiors do NOT do it for me. My light gray is hot enough in the sun as it is, and I'm way up North! But it looks all light-colored in that picture to me... yay!

That is a really sharp boat. Curious to hear about it more...

Where did haugy go

After a little pissing match last year between Haugy and another guy, he decided this wasn't worth his time and effort and doesn't come around here anymore, evidenced by the fact that he hasn't been on the forums since October of last year. Heck, he has even gotten difficult to reach by phone as of late.

Hey Marla, not sure where in TN you are, but June 12-14 of this year we have a large gathering of Supra boats over in eastern TN. There is a thread that is a sticky up in the general chat, https://forum.supraboats.com/showthread.php?17096-Tennessee-Supra-Reunion-Revised. Take a look and see if it is something that you are interested in or can make. You can also order t-shirts for this event.
