I recently sold my 2007 Supra 24SSV and I am considering a new boat. I no longer wakeboard and only wakesurf. I am considering the SC series with the new Swell system. If I go with the SC, do you think the 350 motor will be enough or do you suggest bigger? How about a 4 blade prop? I had the 4 balde on my 24ssv, but don't know if I will need it, since I am no longer wakeboarding, but will pull a tube from time to time. Any other must have options?

Im pretty sure the new SC has a 1.5:1 gear, so id bet it comes with a 4 blade prop like more other v-drives running the same gear reduction.

If surfing is your primary focus and you do not boat on lake thats at any real elevation, then the 5.7 should be just fine. Even with a larger motor, added ballast can easily exceed the holding abilities of a stock prop, requiring an upgrade.

If I were seriously in the market i would ask over on the Moomba site as well. There is a few guys here as well as over there that can give you a ton of feedback on the SC as well as all the new skiers choice models. Happy hunting!

Yes thank you. I posted on the Moomba site as well. Still a not sure of what engine as the 350 is a surf motor, but now the boat will be running more level with the swell, I would probably jump the 450, but for 6K difference, I am not sure it would be worth it.

I just ordered one as well and went with the 350. If you are not at any severe elevation, you should be fine with the 350 and the 14.25 x 14.50 prop. Where are you located?

Thanks for the info.

How many people do you typically have on the boat?

On my 2007 22', the 325hp works fine with 750#s in the back. You might have had the same motor in your 24'.
The newer 22' are close to the same weight and have a 345hp.

When I get a bigger crowd on the boat, it starts to 'bog' down.

I would like to drive the 400 or 450 to see any big differeneces.
Plus, I would like to see the power curve graphed - hp and torq.

Mostly running 4 people. I had the 340 in my 07 24SSV. After reading a bit more, I think the SC350 will be plenty. I can take the difference in money and buy more boards :)
