Just bought a 2007 launch 24ssv. It needs a few things before the summer gets here. Main thing It needs is there is no mat/pad on the swim platform. I bet it will be slick and I have small kids, the old glue or sticky stuff is on it. I was thinking use goof off or something to get it clean, then what. I don't want to put a ton of money in it but what what are my options?
Pics and prices are helpful.thanks

Seadek.com. You are correct, without a pad it will be way to slick for the young ones. There are cheaper options but you will have to cut them to fit yourself and my hand isn't that steady haha. Seadek will cut it exactly to your platform. Super easy to put on and their customer service is awesome. I just put one on mine last year. To get all the old glue off just use some goo-gone and a rag, buff it out while you have the platform clean and no pad on it. Good luck!

If you can also while you have the platform clean and nothing on it you should try and shine/buff it up, it's a perfect time seeing you don't have to worry about the pad on there. Also, I used goo-gone, a rag and the old glue came right off. Good luck!

Any kind of mail polish remover worked well for me on the tough glue parts. Hydro turf is the standard cheaper cut yourself option, about $70. A piece came with the boat I bought, so yep cut it myself. Made cardboard templates first, then traced and cut out based on those with utility knife. The hardest part was placing the parallel straight sides together (3 parts to pad with spacing).

I just bought a 'B' cut of the hydroturf for $40. It'll be in next week so I can let you know if I can see any of the blemishes. I've hear you really can't.

Acetone and a green scratchy pad takes glue gunk off really quickly. Beware that it can damage finishes (Though it did nothing to mine) but since you're gluing another mat right down I don't see the problem. Just don't firehose it everywhere.
