I'm currently running a re-pitched prop at 11 or 11.5. This was a great upgrade from the stock 13-pitch, but when I run full ballast (~1750lbs) and have more than 3-4 people in the boat, it won't get on plane. I'm adding 500lbs more ballast this Spring and want to be able to run full ballast with people on board as well. Anyone using the Acme 2100 (13 x 9) on here? What are your experiences if so? This is on an '88 Sunsport with the 351 and Velvet Drive 1:1. I feel that going down to a 10.5 might suffice for that weight, but from there the only option I can find is the 13 x 9. My concerns are that the 9-pitch will be overkill and run too high of an RPM without weight, and/or I won't be able to go faster than 26 or something crazy like that. I definitely don't care much about top speed as it's only used when getting to/from the wakeboarding spots, but if it would still get up to 30 or so that would suffice.

TIA for any real-world experiences!

the best thing to do is call nettles props. they can tell you exactly what you need. That being said I run the acme 913 in my Saltare but my elevation is 8500ft. I believe most people with sunsports run the 541 or 543

went with the 913 as well. nettle's was actually trying to sell me on the 543 even with it being the same pitch as my current cast prop, under the pretense that their milled props have much more surface area to provide more torque. i still wanted to go 913 so i don't have to worry about planing out with weight this year...and i hope it'll be enough!

The 913 is a stump puller for sure but you may lose some top end. The guys at nettles are completely correct about the amount of surface area on the new props, it is very noticable

nice side-by-side comparison. i'll be sure to report my findings here.
