The way I've heard is that the switch over happened in 1992, so some were wood and some weren't. Apparently the safest way to tell is the windshield shape. If it's squared off (like this one) it's wood. If the window frame is rounded then it's composite.

Yup, she's wood. The only exception to the square windshield rule is a few years of the comp classic where they brought back the square windshield but built it composite.
