It worked earlier now doesn't. I wonder if it was repossessed and he just found out.

Honestly, with a boat like what is listed, that's more probable. It's hard to steal these boats. They are easy to spot, and are quite unique. You can't really easily transport one without being spotted. And unless it was filled to the gills with audio gear, not much they can do with it.
