Hello everybody - my first post here.

Just bought an 85 Supra Rider w/ a 454 engine.
Boat hasn't been in saltwater at all.
I am in San Diego, CA and will take it into saltwater all the time, mainly for wake surfing. Boat already has an upgraded 3 blade prop.

Here is what my buddy already did:

MOTOR:
7.4 L 454 PCM No issues
Holly 650 4V Carb (new)
Mallory Distributor
Marine Starter (new)

NEW Floor/Stringers in 2012
West Marine Epoxy, Stainless Screws, Encapsulated Stringers

NEW MARINE CABLES:
Steering, Accelerator, Shifter, heavy gauge battery and ground cables.

NEW MARINE PARTS (No Automotive):
Hoses, Belts, Gaskets, Clamps, Paint, Stainless Exhaust Bolts and Globe Impeller, Bilge Pump, Starter

So here is what I was planning on doing:

>> Convert to a closed loop cooling system.
>> Upgrade to electronic ignition.
>> Install ballast tanks w/ plumbing, etc.
>> New upholstery, broken gauges, etc.
>> Perfect pass?

Highly appreciate any tips and info on parts I need, and how to get it done, and what else I should consider!

I would save you money on the conversion and spend it on replacement manifolds since they will have saltwater running through them anyways and salt water flush.

Yeah - I ditched all the crazy plans and just get it on the water.
One of the exhaust risers is bad and needs to be replaced.
Might spend the money on the ignition upgrade, in case it starts making trouble.

Should I a zinc anode on the propeller shaft and rudder?

That question would be out of my network.
