So I've been having problems the last 2 weekends. Boat runs pretty good just a little hick up here and there. Them. Was just lout floating for a half hour or so and wouldn't start at all. It was spraying fuel into throttle body when cranking so somebody suggested cap and rotor. Ended up putting a whole new distributer in it and ran pretty good still with some hickups. Dies when putting into gear etc. then this last weekend had it at the lake with new fuel filter/ water sep. Same thing runs till warm the if it sets won't start. Just cranks. Is there more than 1 fuel filter? Is it vapor locking? Lake temp is still under 60 degrees and not exceptionally warm. I'm starting to get frustrated

Check the fuel pressure. Check for good spark at the plugs.

Check the timing on it too. How longs it been since you changed the coil? That could be getting heat soaked as well.
