Kenwood KTS-MP400MR "Door Open"

I have a 2006 Supra 22SSV with the Kenwood KTS-MP400MR cd player. The display reads "Door Open" and beeps every 10 seconds, along with not allowing me to control anything. I have gotten as creative as possible closing the CD door to no avail and the manual has not been helpful. Thoughts?

Does the door not close? Or does it close and just say it's not closed?

it closes just fine.. it latches and will not open unless the button is pushed. It is like a sensor of some sort isn't working or it is just "confused". It has not gotten wet.
