Is it normal for my oil to appear high on the dipstick if my boat is flat on the trailer? I realize that the engine is tilted so I was thinking that it would seem higher from the way the engine lays.

The owner might have put a little extra oil in it to make sure the pump doesn't starve itself while surfing. How high is it?

It was clear up to the word "owners" on the dipstick. I changed it myself this morning anyway. Now I know it's right!

I changed mine on the trailer and put it right at the upper line. When I check it on the water, it's a good bit over the high line...
