I've only been to Big Island on Lake Minnetonka. I'd say it delivered.

My river has the smaller party scene here in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. I'm not big on tying up to 100 other boats because I like to be able to make a quick getaway when things start to head south. Too many drunk people driving their boats around here.... I'm all for having a good time but at the end of the day, I like to be able to make it home without worrying about getting run over by this guy:

Ozarks is very close to me. I got there about 5 times/year. Heading down there again next weekend... love that lake.

I was at the 2009 Aquapalooza on Lake Martin. It was a good time but Martin can get extremely rough with lots of boat traffic at times as it was that weekend.
