Check out what I found. Talked to hank who is designing this and he's sending me out a protype to try out this weekend. He's still working out the bugs but says it's very close. Here is his website,http://www.zenxteninc.com/wake.asp check it out it's the best rope mount I have seen out there. I have tried the PVC, aluminum pole route and it's so shaky. When I get back in town from a skiing weekend I'll post a video of what it looks like.

Emailed him just now to see if I can get my hands on one.

I know he doesn't have any of his newest model available. But he did manager to put one together for me out of spare parts. The guy is great. Sent it to me free of charge and only asked me to give him feedback and send the videos. I'm going to donate some money to his website so he can further the progress On this. Really think he may be on to something with this mount. I have tried a few different ones and from the videos he has posted this is by far the best looking one

I used it once. The weather kind of stunk so the footage wasn't the greatest. Only got to try one setup so I never got it dialed in. Once I get it dialed in its going to be really cool. Suppose to he nice all weekend so I'll get it figured out and I'll post a video. Part of the problem I had was I mounted it a little too close to the handle. Talked to hank and I'm going to push it back towards the boat some to minimize the movement of it. The one thing I did notice is you can feel the weight of the unit in the rope. A few time it actually hindered my skiing. But once again after talking with hank that problem will be solved with moving it more towards the boat. My first try was very shaky but I figured out the problem quickly. Had too much weight on it. So I changed the weights to one size lighter but never got to use the new setup. One side note is once this goes into production the weight will be decreased by using a lighter plastic. All in all it's really cool so far and even had a few friends stop over and ask what the new toy was in the rope.

That is pretty cool for sure! Those guys look like they are super into Moto, which is my main hobby. They have some really neat products!

Yeah this is just a side project for him. The problem is he doesn't have a boat to he's at the mercy of people with boats. I really hope it works out for him. If he can work the bugs out this really is going to be be very cool mount.

That would be great. I have been looking for a good rope mount for a while, I think this will be great!
Post some new pics and tell us about some of the improvements!

Sorry no new pics or videos. I didn't have a driver last weekend. I have some friends coming up this weekend so I'll have new footage even though it's suppose to be cold.

I got my email that he's taking another set of beta testers. So I threw down my $40 + shipping and am looking forward to getting my mount. :-)

Are you getting the spring loaded model? Since I got mine last week he has tweaked the clamp so it's spring loaded and will keep some resistance on it and keep the sway down. So here is my advice. Set it around 10'- 15' from the handle. Any more it will drop into the water if slack develops. The first few times you use it you're going to notice the weight of it. You'll get used to it. I haven't tried the new one yet but it is lighter and more aerodynamic so I'm thinking the it's going to work much better. I'm going to try it without weights first then add some if it needs it. Hank will answer any questions quickly if you have any. Good luck and let me know how it works. I'll post footage when I get back Monday from the cottage.

Post a pic if there's a spring in it. I want to see it

So basically there was a small spring that I put around the rope on the inside of the mount, in the cavity where the stopper is. The spring was between the stopper and the mount itself.

Unfortunately, the spring provided so much friction that by manually twisting the rope, it would actually spin the mount. I had to use 100% of the weights to let the mount even have a chance of overcoming the friction of the spring.

So I'll have to try again with no spring and less weight.

So he's going to send me a couple new stoppers and I'm going to also try it w/o the spring.

Watching the video makes me seasick!

Put some Rainex or aquapel on the inside and outside of the waterproof case. You won't get that fog or water spots. I Would take out the spring and lighten the weight. Learned when it swings like that it's too heavy on the bottom

Right, that's what he advised. BUT, I had to have tons of weight because of that stupid spring. So the spring is for sure coming out. he's also sending me new stoppers.

This dude makes other quality products. When boating season rolls around again (yes, mine is put away for the winter), I'll be picking up this mount. But for my most recent trip to Idaho, I picked up this rear fender bag, to get some weight off my back. Hank over and ZenXteN makes some other sweet products for other sports too.

Sorry for the crappy pic of the fender bag, I just wanted to show off my other sport, and give Hank some props. haha... Check out his site for amazing products...

Thanks for the promo blake.. just a note I had a breakthrough this last week.. got interest from a company and found huge benefits to a design change that came when I started playing with the tube design.. check out how stable it is.. virtually no swaying without using electronics / gimbal.. saweet..

Have you had anyone try this on a rope while hydrofoiling? Our season is over now - but I would love to give it a try ...

Also, would it work with the contour cameras?

So got it out at the park the other day.. the new setup is much better than the rest.. Hopefully get some good footage behind the boat in a the next week.. then try the kickstarter again.. Need lots of support so I can get things rolling..

its taken more time than I would have liked it to but here we go.. check out the kickstarter, the latest videos on my youtube and support the project.. getting solid results from a 3d printed version a production model with good tolerances will work even better.
