Found an 08 24ssv gg edition for around 30k that from the pictures needs a new interior or at least new rear seat and swim deck. Does anyone have a ball park cost to do that? Is there any things in particular I should be looking at on these boats prior to purchasing aside from the usual cosmetic and engine compression? This will be my first inboard purchase coming from stern drive and jet. Thanks for any advice.

Take it for a ride and try everything out. Pay especially close attention to the tranny shifts for smoothness and no lag in engaging. With the engine running, get down in the lockers and look over every square inch of block, hoses, and manifolds. If they let it freeze, you will see leakage from the bottom of the block. Check the oil levels and the condition of the oil that comes up on the dipsticks. Tranny should be bright red, and the V drive and engine should not be gooey black.

This late in the season prices are on their way down rapidly. You should be in no hurry, as you will get a better deal the longer you wait till at least Feb.

Rear seat can still be bought from the dealer. Probably cost 4-600 bucks depending on whether you get the skin or the full seat.

Beyond the fluid checks I'd consider pulling the water return hoses off the top of the exhaust manifolds....it's a quick thing as these are just hose clamps. Check the inside of each of the elbow fittings for signs of burning or even melting.....this can be felt by touch. Anything but smooth would indicate that the engine had been overheated and hot exhaust gases scortched the inside of the fittings likely caused by an impeller failure. New exhaust mani's will set you back a few bucks......

Take a good look under the dash. Try to look for signs of submersion damage. When you take it for a water trial take some goggles and swim the underside checking for damage. Verify the prop shaft doesn't move laterally.

+1 on everything above. This is priced questionably low.
