Built my own DIY gate based on all the info from all other threads and DIY'ers. very easy, inexpensive, comes off in seconds, no drilling in hull.

shelf board(oak), scrap 2 x 6 (2pcs), eye screws, and turnbuckles

2005 22ssv Gravity games
2300lb stock ballast
450lb lead bars(2up front, 2 mid, 2rear)
250lb sac in bow
500lb sac rear bench, all weight is distributed evenly

vids are with 2 girls in boat

Sweet. Looks like a pretty decent wave. I made a few attempts a a DIY surfgate on my 2008 22SSV, But it has the Huge Fiberglass Swim Platform and funky shaped rear transom. Not flat in the back, so after two variations, I threw in the towel. Just listing it like before. I'd really be interested in seeing someone with the same hull who was successful...

Thanks for the post! Gets me re-motivated to maybe try again...

Looks simple and effective. Good job. My question is what if I have the fiberglass platform. I'd like to try this out but what would I hook the I hook to under a fiberglass platform? My boat is an hour away at the moment so I can't look under platform at the moment.
