buying advice needed please

I have a 09 ninja 650 on cl for 4600. A guy offered a trade for his 84 supra comp ts6m. Said stringers and floor in good shape.said he values his boat at 5500. Not really familiar w boats as this would be first one. Did some research and restored these look awesome! Talk to me guys go or no go?

If the floor and stringers have not been replaced in a 84 you can pretty much guarantee they will need to. Im sure most here will agree with that. So then your looking at $3000 to $5000 for that unless you can do it yourself. (very big job)

Huge thanks foxriver for the input.I went to see it today. Started right up first try has fiberglass swim deck few of seats recovered and all lights worked. Now for the bad on the 7 underside of hull there was fiberglass as if damage from beaching and on the front nose topside about 6 in of fiberglass just piled on for a repair. Put a wrench on the motor mounts and it's pretty snug but they have recently been moved about 4 inches to the front the shafts was also extended. The motor seems good enough not so sure about floor and all the fiberglass work. Does this sound like a 4500$ boat?

They moved the engine ? I bought a 84 comp 2 years ago for 2500 it was supposed to have new stringers . I just finished a stringer job on it all they did was cover the rot. You need to have it checked out by somebody that knows what to look for.

Nice comps come up for sale quite often this isn’t one of them. Summer is over you have lots of time Keep looking.

The other thing to remember is the boat will cost you a lot more to use then the bike.... They are all $10K boats......

Don't waste your time on that one. If the mounts were moved something big is up with it
