87 Sunsport

I have an 87 Supra sunsport. I replaced the velvet drive three years ago, and last summer I found transmission oil in the bilge. I’ve had to put in two pints of transmission oil already. I could never do the work to replace a front and rear seal myself, and there's no inboard service within a hundred miles. I'm hoping that we aligned the prop shaft correctly when we replace the transmission
So I’m hoping the trail of red that runs from the linkage is a clue. I remember once I read that a small “o” ring at the linkage can sometimes be the cause of a transmission oil leak. Do you think that a couple of pints could come out there, or does it have to be the front or real seal? I took off the neutral safety switch cover plate, but I can figure out how to pull that whole valve out.
