So I've decided to do some upgrades to the boat finally that I got some free time and a few grand lol , so I wanted to re design the passenger seat first .
My issue is that I'm dropping the overall height from 16" to 12" overall including 4" foam for seat . But with that said I can't put together a rear back rest "design" that looks good and works . I know I'm reinventing the wheel but I sure would like some ideas http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/08/cdc63fe16cf4ad097d421399a04e5336.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/08/1e83f5f8cc9aaad7101f8c19df7e45e6.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/08/f8042c3d14be286b8c755a624705bb55.jpg

Ok I got the base down , now the back rest will serve as a dual purpose my amps and head unit will be in the cubbie and I've got somewhat of a design in mind http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/13/782eea24f9599bd4dcd75df36458e321.jpg

I was thinking about doing something similar for my Rider. It currently has another captains chair for the observer. I was thinking more about doing what your current configuration is though. What don't you like about the way it is now? I know you want to drop the height, but why?

I am dropping the height of the seat base to accommodate 6" foam, and to keep the windshield from hitting people in the head . its just too high and too cramped . and it was a wasted space in my eyes , sure it housed my batteries / amps . but no one was able to comfortably sit and enjoy .. with this way i can keep all stereo and amps in the cubbie , wiring is all tucked and nice , and ill just store towels under the pass seat .

Super cool !
I would like to do the same, but the 454 almost touch the dog house, there is no place arround.

Yeah I'm gonna do the rear hatch as well . And make it a little less BS to prop up while un loading . Those lift supports were a bit tricky to get right.

There is some detail in this thread. I got the actuator on Amazon and the struts from a buddy of mine. I have to switch is wired up to it, one at the driver seat, and one in place of one of the four vents at the back

I'll take some more pictures once I get my boat ready to go.

The way I did it is I let it over hang about 2" and tucked and shot staples to hold it without rough edges . I have a air stapler and SS staples so that really the only reason why . But I painted my floor white this time and I'm using a snap in design carpet 40oz . It's supposed to be delivered to the shop today so will see

You could also get some aluminum trim from home depot and screw it into the stringers sealing the screws.

Ah! ok. Just didnt want to put more holes in the stringer, but it will last another 10-15 years anyway so who cares by that point huh. 15833
