Does anyone know the length of the drive shaft in a 1990 ts6m? I found one out of an 1987, and its 43.5 inches. I need to replace mine, it's warped.

I'm not aware of any hull differences between an 87 and a 90 Comp. If the transmissions are the same on the two boats(i.e., same brand (PCM or Borg Warner) and same gear ratio(1:1, 1.23:1)), then the shafts should be the same. However, I would never buy a used shaft without taking it to a machine shop and having them put it on a lathe to check the runout. Runout greater than 0.003" is a no go. My machine shop charged me $15 to do it last time I had mine checked.

Personally, I'd buck up and buy a new shaft. The folks at Discount Inboard Marine are very friendly and helpful can fix you up lickety split. Just pick up the phone and call. (803) 345-0996 www.skidim.com (http://www.skidim.com)
