What size flax

Probably a simple question, but need to know as local parts place is no help. What size flax to buy for a 98 Supra Comp with the Indmar 350 engine? I think I can replace, but don't know the size.

As long as your shaft is 1" diameter, it should take 1/4" packing. While you're taking it apart you should consider using GFO Gore-tex packing instead of the flax rope. No drips, sfhaft runs cool, and I haven't had to adjust my packing nut in 5 years. http://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=GFO1/4X24

I started out thinking packing or stuffing, but is seems the youtube vids and the parts people around here like "flax."

Thanks. I ended up retrieving a chunk of the old stuff and got what they had. I think 1/4", but just the rope.
