That's a ton of hours. Unless the motor was gone through recently and the stringers where done that's way too much.

Where is it located at? I agree, that that is a lot of hours. Can you do a compression test on it? Check the floor for soft spots. Any soft spots = bad news. Can you post some pics?

Gotta agree with these guys. If that boat needs stringers and an engine rebuild you're looking at $5-8k more. Ask them if any engine or stringer work has been done.

With those hours and the shape the gelcoat is in that is not worth any where near what he wants. That has been sitting in water it's whole life. With very little maintenance. Offer him 4k or move on.

agreed... way overpriced. Not that I'm an expert, other than I just paid $5k for a SunSport that has been solid as a rock so far... only 450 hours and really nice shape...

I'll differ from the crowd and saw hours don't bother me. It's like buying a car or truck... Miles don't matter, just that's it's there and reasonably well taken care of or workable. Engine rebuilds are cheap and easy. Faded gel is simple, though labor intensive to bring back to a nearly new shine. My only concern with that boat would be stringers. If they haven't been done it'll need them, maybe in a year maybe in 10 years. High hours and needing a compound and polish are good negotiating points. If it has been covered and under a carport that is a big plus so far as keeping it dry and generally cared for... But who knows how long that has been the case. Trailer looks nice too. If the interior needs nothing, stringers are still good, and it runs/drives alright then I'd guesstimate $5000-$7000 is a reasonable range depending on specifics.

I think cadunkle has a point - more than one point. 1900 hours could mean a lot of different things, I would really want to know more. I have almost 1600 on my boat. But the engine is newer and the transmission has had religious oil changes. The interior looks nice and that trailer looks new, it was probably $3-4k.

But stringers, stringers, stringers. If they are solid, (and, as cadunkle said, it runs well) that package might be worth $6-7k. Worst case, it needs an engine rebuild in the near future. Unfortunately, it's hard to convince a buyer that the trailer has that much value, but I'm sure that's driving the $7,800 asking price to some extent. But hey you gotta start high because as a seller you can only go down. If it needs stringers too, keep looking.

That's my two cents. Maybe more than two cents...

This was over a year ago... so I'm guessing no. If you're looking to sell, post in the classified section and/or (obviously) include a CL link. Pictures, pictures, pictures. Good luck!
