93' proboss 351 starter issues

Have a pro boss 351 starter that spins but does not engage the ring gear. Pull the starter and the teeth on the ring gear look fine. Anybody have any suggestions for a replacement starter? The previous owner had the service records and paid almost $300 each year for the last two years on the starter. He did not know anything about what was wrong with it. Trying to get one to replace this one. It bolts on from the front side of the engine to the bell housing. Complete opposite of what the 454 in the salt does.

My buddy wants to get on the water this weekend so any help is appreciated!!

I had to replace mine last month. I ended up buying one from a local marine dealer for starters and alternators.
