Noise at 25mph

Just picked up a 2000 launch direct drive. Boat has some issues, i knew this when i bought it. One noise is concerning, from 22mph-27mph i hear a hum/howl. It only occurs at those speeds. The
Previous owner said it was the tower resonating and it sounds like it. Just curious if anyone had had a similar issue with the oem rad-a-cage tower. Is it the tower or should i be looking at the driveline. Thanks-

Joe if it was the driveline you would feel it get worse at higher speeds. Check the tower to make sure it's tight. Also I believe there is a foam pad under the mounts maybe the pads are bad.

The sound appears around 22 and then is gone after 25. It almost sounds like a tuning fork hum. I will probably remove the tower and take it out for a test to see what happens.

It appears the noise is from a bent strut. I will shop around for a new strut tomorrow.

A prop shop can straighten it. Check the bushings, probably worth it to replace them while access is easy. You'll want to check the alignment once it's all back together too.
