Pylon mount cracked

Last Sunday my rusted pylon mount that bolts to the tracking fin finally cracked. Was going to pull engine to get to it but Anthony from skiers choice said there should be an access panel. We'll there was. After cutting the carpet. Busting up all the bondo that covered the seams and the screws I finally got the sob off and repaired. That's one way to get me to replace my teal carpet.1656616567165681656916570

Is this in a comp? I need to replace the pylon in my Sunsport and I've been dragging my feet. This access panel may encourage me.

Yes its a comp. I would imagine they all have access panels. That thing is bolted to the stringers with 12 lag bolts and was so tight in there it would have never slid out with the engine out if I had went that route. Call Anthony Cooper at skiers choice 865-983-9924 ext 118 he knows all about the old supras

well I'll be damned! After replacing my carpet I would of never guessed there is a panel there.

Ckracing, I've got an 86 sunsport and it has an access there. You probably do too.

Hey CKRacing. I know this is an old post but I’m doing the same repair. Did you ever open up your SunSport floor around the ski pylon? I have my carpet out and I think the floor goes all the way up under the cooler. Let me k is what you found. Thanks
