EFI Compression Test

Hey, I was wondering if with the EFI engines, to test the compression, you can take it out of gear and put the throttle in the WOT position. Most cars this disables the fuel injectors and spark plugs, but I'm not sure if it's the same thing for marine engines.

For most boats:

Injectors do get bypassed, ignition does not. That is how you start a flooded FI boat. Once it catches the injectors come back on line.

The easiest way is to jump the starter at the solenoid, so you get the starter with no ignition or FI. Second easiest, unplug the distributor, assuming you have an older model that has one.
