Maintenance Required

Dash Display shows "Maintenance Required". I'm assuming this is same as a check engine? Boat ran great all day. As we were riding back to dock message displayed. Boat never showed any signs of mechanical issues. I'm also having trouble finding where to plug the code reader in. Doubt that I have right connections but need a starting point.

If you can't find a shop that will read the code cheaply, then you can find a simple reader that plugs into the harness near the ECM on the engine. You flip a switch, which shorts 2 wires and puts the module into read mode. An LED light on the reader then flashes the code sequence. Crude, but it will give you the code and clear it for about $50 vs. about $2k for a GM marine interface and software.
