Had a friend of mine have a rough day on a trip to the lake when he ended up burning up rear axle (tandem trailer) bearings. Luckily he will be able to salvage the axle and replace the bearings and seals. So now I am obviously a little nervous about it and have been meaning to do my own anyway. Does anyone know a good place to get the new seals for a tandem trailer and what is everyone's opinion on here as far as buddy bearings go? This always seems to be a sensitive subject hahaha.

I'm a fan of the bearing buddies. NAPA or your local farm store will have all of the seals, races and bearings that you need. It's not too tough of a job. Pull them out first and take them in with you -- they'll match them all up for you.

Yea have have done the seals and bearings before on my ski supreme and its really basic. A hour or so of work to save a summer of burnt up axles ill take any day. I usually just go to tractor supply or the local RV place and get them pretty easy just didn't know if you guys had any dirt cheap places to get them wholesale.

So it's all apart but the seals have no numbers on them from what I can see. Seem to be about 2 1/4 outside by about 1 5/8 on the inside. Trailer is stock. Bearings and race seem to be just fine. Grease was not to bad at all but regardless it's getting replaced. Michael hunter any part numbers or size info you have is much appreciated
