Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and recently an owner of my first supra, its a 2008 supra worlds edition and I'm looking to remove the decals off the hull. the previous owner must have applied a clear coat sealer border to the edges of the decals around the whole boat, ive done tons of research on restoring and polishing gel coat, but there is a 1 inch border of clear coat on the edge of the decals and 1 inch directly on the gelcoat, it appears to have been applied with a brush, ive tried a little bit of wetsanding with 1500 grit on a small corner of the decal and it appears to still show even after cutting it down, I really want to put the 59' supra badge on it like the newer models but don't want to damage the gel coat in the process, I'm also in a small town in northern Alberta and the nearest gel coat and or marine shop is over 2 hours away, I wont have the time to take it anywhere during the very small wakeboarding season we have, hope somebody has some suggestions or knowledge on this..

here are some pics
thanks!

Try using some acetone on it.
