Hey guys sorry if this has already been posted, BUT.... doing a transmission fluid change on my 1989 Sunsport (PCM 40 1:23 trans). The previous owner had all the original manuals, and the service manual says there should be a stainless strainer in the hose connection where the oil goes back into the transmission from the cooler. I have disconnected every hose and don't see anything. Am I missing something or was this an error in the manual??

Is there any kind of filter or strainer for the transmission oil, there is nothing I can see....

Any help is greatly appreciated...

It was an option it would be in line between the raw water pick up on the hull bottom and the trans cooler. It is a plastic housing with a clear cup that screws on inside the cup is a stainless filter screen.

The trans cooler is in line between the raw water pick up and the raw water pump. The bottom picture has a clear picture of it with the green striped hose.
