Just wondering if anyone has experienced the above. I had a oil cooler supply line to the Oil cooler fail on the weekend. I managed to immediately shut the motor down when the Engine Fault alarm came in on the heads up. When checked we had only lost about a 1 1/2 Litres of oil. We had enough to top it up but when we restarted the line was leaking to much to run the engine. I have heard that there are better lines that can be installed and I definately do not want this to happen again as it stranded us 14 miles from a safe dock. Is this common and if so should I replace all of the lines now? Or even possibly upgrade the lines. Boat has roughly 265 hours on the motor.
Anyone with experience on this would be greatly appreciated.
