Called acme today to suggest a prop for my 86 salt with about 2000 lbs of ballast for surfing. Talked to Jim and he said he wanted to try something different for my application. He is putting me in an ACME3092 4 blade. B I'm currently run in a 14x13 3 blade. It should be to me next week He asked me to do unto the WOT RPM and speed and give him some feedback.

Can't wait to try it out!

I agree new acme will make a huge difference I got the 2160 for my salt and it handles the surf weight way better now. 4 blades makes it way better then 3 with 2000 lbs ballast.

Excellent! I have two requests: Take a picture of the two, side-by-side, for comparison. And also please put your info in the Prop Info thread (https://forum.supraboats.com/showthread.php?15325-Prop-Specs-ONLY).

Thanks and enjoy!

I will add this to the prop thread but just wanted to post my initial findings....
I was running a 14x13 3 blade. It did good but seemed to lack hole shot. We started surfing this year and it did ok with all the ballast but you would have to speed up to slow down so the boat would get out of the hole.

Top speed was about 39 mph at 4400rpm.

Put the new 4 blade on tonight and was able to do a few hot runs and hole shots and let me tell you..... The thing takes off like a fighter jet!! My top speed dropped to about 36-37 at 4400 rpm but it gets there in the blink of an eye. I am going to try to get out this weekend and load up the ballast and see how it does. Here are a few pics:

Thanks for taking those pictures - it's a really dramatic difference, right?!

Sometimes when people aren't sure whether it's worth the money or what kind of difference it will make, or why the new prop will be so different in specs than the old one, I want to point them to a pic like this. I can't find one that I took a few years ago.

Cheers, and enjoy.

I keep coming across prop threads... It's really that good huh?

I just came across a youtube vid of ski nautique that had a acme 422. That thing really shot out of the water.

Every boat that I've put a new CNC prop on, the owners have said, "Wow, what a difference. Better hole shot and better throttle response..." I mean, the picture nearly says it all. It's like going from a worn-out all-season tire in wet snow to a nice grippy brand-new snow tire. Sure the all-season will get you around, but it's not the same.

Acme 422 woke my sunsport right up! Love it compared to the old 3 blade that was on.
