Hey guys,

I'm having an issue with a "knocking sound" coming from the area of the transmission and the shaft. What I've observed is that it does go away after it's warmed up, particularly after a skier has been pulled. Other thing I've noticed is where the shaft meets the trans, it doesn't seem to be running true, could this be an alignment issue? Or something worse in the trans?

I do change the oil regularly and after inspecting the oil it looks to be good as well, not milky in any way. Thanks in advance. For people's information I have an '89 Comp with the Velvet Drive.

Check the strut bushing -- it might be worn

I'n not sure of the exact specs, but if you have the boat out of the water and there is any movement with the shaft in the bushing you need a new bushing.
