Well it looks like I held off about as long as I could on my 87 Supra Sunsport. There have been a few soft spots in my floor for some time but the one in front of the observer seat is now so bad I doubt I could get another season out of it. Here is my dilemma; I wanted to do the stringers myself, but my garage is not big enough to fit the boat in there over the winter. I could easily do the work out side, but north of Chicago it will be too cold for Epoxy to set up. I have been looking for shops that could do some or all of the work. I called boat http://boatdoctors.net/, but they wanted 10k to do the boat!! I can pull the interior and cap myself no problem if that helps. Does anyone know any shops that are willing to work with you at a more reasonable cost? I doubt the boat would be worth even 9k when it is done.
Thanks in advance

really 10K?!?!? I called just last week and they said mine (exact same boat) would be 4-5800 and take a little over a month if I took it to them as it sits.

Oh I see now. There's a shop in Roscoe that you could try. D&S Marine. Good guys and fair prices.

How much time can you dedicate to the tear down and such? What is your time frame for having this done if you go at it yourself? I had mine torn apart and ready for new stringers in short order but took my time to do some other enhancements to the boat so my time frame took longer.

I have no shortage of time to prep the boat, I just don't have the garage space to do it. I can do it in my driveway, but it's too cold durring Chicago winters for epoxy to cure

Have you thought about a storage space or something at all?

I have, but with it not being close to my house and tools, it would be tricky
