Island Marine hosted the grandfather of Owners Reunions, the 5th Annual Southwest Owner’s Reunion, this past weekend hosting the largest gathering of Supra and Moomba boats in one place. More than 50 Supra and Moomba boats were on hand with over 200 guests.

Guests were treated to a Cocktail Party the first evening with Hot Wheels Drag Racing Elimination Heats, NHRA style. The competition between Supra and Moomba owners was fierce. Everyone pulled together the following morning at the Naked Turtle for a driver meeting to work out the details of the Poker Run and headed over to the cove for some more good competitive fun. At the cove owners competed against one another in the hilarious three–legged races. Everyone mended their wounds and raced out to Mothers Bay for a tie up float party.

Island Marine had lunch awaiting the crew and several more hilarious games to keep the competition going between Supra and Moomba owners. As the evening drew near we assembled a boat parade that passed under the famous “London Bridge” that now spans the Bridgewater Channel and headed back to the Nautical Inn to clean up and get ready for the Awards Ceremony and the Hot Wheels Drag Racing Finals.

You know, I thought the hot wheels race was intense, but the next morning everyone lined up to compete in the Trailer Backing Contest. The top three boasted scores from 7 seconds to 5 seconds, insane! Some contestants eliminated themselves within 2 seconds. Maybe next year we can have the bottom three do a demo!

The 5th Annual Southwest Owners Reunion was an amazing event. The host hotel even stated that they looked forward to the Supra and Moomba owner’s event each year because it was like a pep rally and a fun group of people. I also noticed guest’s saying before the event was even over that they couldn’t wait until next year. You know there is nothing better than spending time with people who share the same enthusiasm for boating and watersports!

Thanks Island Marine!
