I got to talk a lot about our event this past weekend at the Chattanooga boat show. We will be there. Moses has it on the calendar so we might get to see the Autowake perform, that is a very cool system. I spoke to Rob from Skiers Choice a lot about the Autowake system.

Awesome, I can't wait to see everyone again. That would be great if Moses could bring another boat out like they did in '15.

For those that have attended before - we're talking about a change in the itinerary. We're going to lock through the Chickamauga Dam and go down river where we should find smooth water and a different scenery. If you haven't locked through a dam before then this will be a treat. We'll dock in downtown Chattanooga and eat at one of the many restaurants available near the waterfront.

Here are a couple pics of our recent trip through the locks on a different boat:

You're also forgetting about the guy that drives 9 hours from Ohio every year. Doh!

We've been talking about going down river through the lock for last couple years. Should be a good time.

Sounds like a good time and being that I am in north Ga I would only have about a 2-2.5 hour drive. Sorry to sound like a newb but since I have not attended before what is the typical scene? Does everyone tend to hang out on and off the lake? I keep reading after party? Would this be a better guys trip or family friendly? Just would like to be prepared and make the best of it if attending.

gogger

Well I think of it as family friendly. Mostly hanging on the water. We usually tie up in a quiet area and take turns going out surfing and wakeboarding. Then back to hang out some more. Then take the boats to dinner. Usually by then we are all finished for the day. Meet up the next morning and do it again. The after party started last year, one of the originals has a lake house on Lake Nottely, my wife and I make a week out of it and go over to Nottely and spend the week. Last year a few more came over and spent a couple days.

The reunion is a great time to check out some boats, surf and wakeboard behind some different boats and have a great time on the water. Make some new friends and have fun.

A 2004 sounds like a really new boat to me! We typically have everything from a 1983 model Supra up through the current models. All are welcome and it's just a fun time to hang out and talk boats. As Gogger said, it's a family event with good, laid-back fun on the water. You should definitely make it if you can.

Main house is in Marietta, Lake house is in Blairsville. Both about an hour and half drive to Chattanooga pulling a boat so I would hope it wouldn't take you that long from N. GA

Gogger pretty much explained it. We start to gather on Friday afternoon with a few boats. Hang around, talk and finish with some water sports, then on to dinner. Usually conclude around 10 -11 pm at night. On Saturday morn, we tend to gather around 10 - 11 ish if we aren't looking for new props and start the whole thing all over again. Saturday has a lot of families of all different ages and we raft up for while and eat lunch. The afternoon is busy with everyone doing their own thing but usually in close proximity. We also do congregate on several boats and sacrifice ourselves as ballast to the surf gods. If you're lucky enough to wipeout, then we try to capture that image and put on the internet for the world to see. After an early dinner, we try to go back out and cruise around till sunset or jump the cliffs. Sunday morning is pretty much the encore mirroring the prior days events before the curtain falls in the PM.

The after party is an extended vacation started for the northern entourage. It is an invitation only event as we have limited accommodations on Lake Nottely. This year's after party is booked full already, but we may still have a few slots available for those just coming in to spend the day. Last year's after party was all couples so the atmosphere tends to be somewhat different than the actual reunion.

On Saturday morn, we tend to gather around 10 - 11 ish if we aren't looking for new props and start the whole thing all over again.

Clinics, we run "clinics" every year usually on the water or on the trailer after getting off the water. Such clinics have included prop repair/replacement 101, prop shaft coupler repair 101 and 102 and "Pro-tec ignition issues for dummies."

Basically it is the most fun you can have with a really great group of people. My wife and I went to the first one, we came without our boat because we flew down for just one day and then back. Then a few years later we dragged our boat all the way from home. Point being, we have made some great friends that we talk to and look forward to seeing to this day because of that first year.

Back before my rebuild when I still had a tower on my boat. Ok, not this year but when the kids get old enough to travel well by road and can handle being out on the water more I am bringing it down again.

It's not far from downtown. We'll be hitting it some on Saturday, but we could also do it more on Sunday or go upriver as well. We really haven't ventured too far before, but there's lots to see in both directions.

I just looked on the map and it listed the gorge as 5 miles from dtown. That is close. Runs 25+ miles to Hales Bar Dam Marina.

Harrison Bay to Dtown looks appx 15-20 miles via the lock . Should be some good cruising

What motor do you have in the jet boat?
I have a friend who is looking for a 455 olds. If you know of one, shoot me a PM.

We do not see that many in Knoxville, but they are pretty cool cruising down the lake with the rooster-tail.

There are two boats each that have a 16 person capacity alone so 32 people can essentially go between those two boats plus countless others. I bet we have two spots for you somewhere if your boat is still INOP in July.

Order Now!! 2017 Southern Supra Reunion T-shirt. Cut off Date will be Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 10:00 PM

Ok guys, I finally have the design to post for the Southern Supra Reunion which is quickly upon us. You have two weeks to get your orders in.
I want to thank SupraAddict aka Brad for all of his hard work on it.

You don't have to attend the reunion to order a shirt. But please, order one if you like. Every year after the reunion, I get many emails asking if there are any extra T-shirts and the answer is always no. The quantity we print are based on the emails you guys send to us prior to the event. Remember, our event is not sponsored by Supra.
We do this for fun and to add a nice Supra shirt to our collection.

The shirts will be CHARCOAL as shown below. We have ADULT - S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL. The price is $18.00 per shirt up to Adult size XL. Adult shirt XXL and XXXL are $20.00 each. If you need them shipped, it will be an additional charge.

If you would like to order, please send an email before 10:00 PM on June 25th to [email protected] with the sizes, quantity, your forum name and given name. Send address if you want them shipped.

24 days until we see everyone.

There are campgrounds if that is your style literally in the same spot that we launch from in Harrison Bay State Park.

Then there is "Camp Hampton" where some of us stay as well. http://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/tennessee/hampton-inn-chattanooga-north-ooltewah-CHANOHX/index.html

And there is a third smaller option near a Mexican restaurant that we have hit up every year since year one though not sure if that is in the cards this year.

There's a Super 8 at that exit next to the Waffle House that will be the cheapest option before camping. Also a Holiday Inn Express next door to Hampton Inn. Bring your AC if your camping. Hot July nights in TN.

I'm new to the forum and am currently rebuilding an '89 COMP. My goal is to finish this weekend so I can be at the reunion...I live on Signal Mtn (Chattanooga) and my brother lives on the lake about 10 minutes from the Park, so we are going to try our best to make several days of this event. I'm looking forward to meeting folks and sharing SUPRA ideas....since mine is a recent rebuild, I'm open to lots of ideas. If luck holds and I can fix my oil pressure issue, I will bring my '76 NORDIC jet dragster up one of the days....

Day one in the record books. Weather ended up great (albeit hot and humid) and so did the participation.
Nine Supra boats by evening were out on the water enjoying each other's company.
Got some surfing in as 14 jumped on board and helped create a massive wake on the 242.
Mrs. Hunter stole the show with her 360 spins and big smile.
Loadup and his son Will put on an exhibition as well.
SouthernGrounds and ZKDK3000 also got in on the action and tore up the wake.
Even Gogger made an appearance on the board ripping it up for a bit.
My thanks to all that showed up and traveled from far away. Can't do it without y'all.

Hoping the weather doesn't stop the action for tomorrow. Will try to post pics if I can find time to take some in between driving a boat.

Fred I don't know the names of the land marks around here. But we are at islandcove marina and we head out and go a little northeast and there is a bridge under 58. We generally go under it and head into the first cove to the left. Or on down a little and behind the island there. We will be out for a while until mid afternoon when folks start heading out. Call or text me at 614 738 6884 and I will let you know where we are at. Would love to see you there.

Fred,
I want to apologize for today. I'm sure I sent you an email with my phone number to call. You actually saw my brother in his red Sunsport but he didn't listen to my directions either when I texted him and I believe he sent you in the wrong direction. You may hate us but we were just up the river by Wolfever Creek around the corner from where you put (I believe I saw a red Comp) in on Hwy. 58 bridge. (By the island)
We had 7-8 boats up there today surfing and wake boarding. My brother gave me your card and told me the story. So sorry this happened. We will be back in the same spot in the morning till about 2:00 to 2:30 pm ish. We haven't been up river towards the power plant in the last two years but it was an honest mistake and so sorry for the confusion.

The sun has set on Day 2 of the reunion. We met up before noon and rafted up awhile. Unfortunately, InAir had fuel pump issues on the Sunsport and after spending the better part of the day working on it, decided to call it quits and hitch a ride. TitanTn decided to keep his Saltaré dry today and just ride along with his family on the 242 and the kids didn't mind one bit as they got to surf repeatedly along with Mrs. Hunter.
The afternoon was spent with most all boats doing their own thing. At one point, there were three Supras in the river channel creating quite the wake with all the surfing going on. Fun to watch other boats try to slow their speed down just as they hit the wake as their bow leaps to the sky then abruptly plunges downwards.
A storm moved in around 4:30 and darkened the skies. We had lighting all around us but only few minutes of raindrops. We got quite lucky as we found out later, the storms were very intense just south of us causing some major damage with downed trees and light flooding.
Then the skies cleared to blue and we had another beautiful evening on our hands.
We decided to get off the lake early and head for dinner as a group.
The conversation and comraderie were excellent along with the steak, lasagne, salmon, ribs, onion rings and of course, the hot croissants.
Took a few pics today with good camera but only two with my iPhone. Here are those two.

Day 3 is no longer and another Southern Supra Reunion is in the record books.
I hope all attendees had a good time and again, thanks to all that came and participated. I will try to do better on the communication with social media next year and make sure those attending have our contact info.

Today was absolutely gorgeous. We didn't have to worry about the weather.
Wakeboard session began at 8:30am on Gogger's 24SSV with said owner and Zkdk3000 tearing up smooth water. After a brief intermission, we returned with the 242 as Mrs Hunter once again put on a show for the ages. Also convinced Mrs Mischief IV to surf a little and figure out that goofy wave. Put Mrs Hunter back out and she tried goofy for the first time.
By noon we had all 7 boats rafted up. Time passed quickly as we talked shop for hours and by 3 o'clock realized it we were nearing the end of our time together.
Unfortunately, as we tried to surf once more, the boat traffic was just too much for Zkdk3000 and girlfriend and their friend. It was a valiant effort but I couldn't find them smooth water.
On the upside, Mr Carr made it back out today and found us so we got to see his 89 Comp that was in awesome shape.
So, we packed up and headed out around 4:30 to start the after party.

We had quite the assortment of boats over the 3 days ranging from a 1985 Sunsport, '86 Saltaré, '88 Mariah, '89 Comp, '89 Sunsport, '90 Saltaré, '91 Sunsport, '97 Sunsport, '02 Launch, '04 Launch, '06 24SSV and a 2012 Sunsport 242. If I forgot someone, I apologize in advance.
It's wonderful to meet such great people on the forum who share the same passion with boats. I didn't take a ton of photos as in years past but will post the good ones when I can. Thanks again, hope to see you more of you next year.

Remind you that the Jetski has 300 hp and the red Sunsport has 315 hp yet weighs 2100 lbs more. It was the driver who needed the lesson, not the skier.

The fifth straight day of watersports comes to an end. Are we having fun yet?
Started the day on Ngavchris' Sunsport. You don't realize how fat and out of shape you are until you try to perform a few slalom runs after breakfast. InAir joined us as we did our best before our arms went to spaghetti.
After that, Ngavchris soared on his kneeboard jumping the wake effortlessly.
When everyone was ready, we loaded up the 24 footers along with pontoon and headed to deeper water.

Best part of the last two days for me was seeing Mr. and Mrs. InAir surf after trying so hard to do so last year unsuccessfully. They had an excellent coach in Loadup and both were successful this year at getting up on their own, finding the pocket and surfing with without need of the rope. The smiles never lie and what blast to see this wonderful couple finally succeed at this endeavor.

By late pm, we decided a double header was in order and put both boats to work side by side.
After awhile, the craziness wore off and another day passed us by faster than the day before.

As three couples left us this evening to return to reality, the 4 couples remaining will take up the slack (literally) to fill their void tomorrow.

Starting to run out of things to try. Today was awesome however.
Kneeboarding behind the '97 Sunsport. Wakeboarding behind the '06 24SSV and finish with surfing the '12 Sunsport 242.
How can you beat that?

It's been awhile since I kneeboarded and an 8:30 am run pretty much proved that I'm not as young as I used to be. Still fun though and wishing I could complete a barrel roll I once used to stick with ease.
Came back in to a wonderful breakfast feast cooked by MJHKnox. The french toast and Tennessee Pride sausage supplied enough energy so the four remaining couples could head out for Wakeboard Wednesday.
Of course with two beautiful Supra boats and great photo opportunities we eventually turned our wakeboarding into a double header as well.

Once wakeboarding was over, was time to load ballast on the 242 and surf and surf and surf and surf. We anchored Goggers boat and put a few extra pounds on the transom as the guys found the best seats in the house.
Water was smooth and rarely another boat seen. The wake was tall and long with great push. With two GoPros recording the action, fun was had by all as we tried to up our game.

Ended the day jumping the Jetski behind the 24SSV.
Note to self: Without ballast, the 24SSV puts out a massive wake!
