How long did the last one take?

Like 10 years. I know of one in Ohio threw a fellow member here. It's just trying to get ahold of the owner, not the easiest.

Looking for a second needle in the haystack doesn't sound fun! Good luck.

Good luck with the search, I hope you don't have to wait as long this time!

Are you going to get a different boat to use in the interim?

Do you have any idea how many they made? I have never seen one before so I am always on the look out but have never spotted one. Curious how many ever made it out of the factory. Guessing they had the same stringer issues so wonder how many could be left. Fun looking boat.

I seem to recall a single digit number being thrown around as the production number. I'd be surprised if they made so few having gone to the trouble of getting set up for one, but then who knows. I think a lot of records were lost when Supra changed hands, too. I suppose Lane here might really know, but it's almost certainly fewer than 100, quite possibly fewer than 10.

I'd say the odds of finding one without the internet would be about zero. But it's almost just a matter of time if you cast a wide enough net on the interwebz these days.

There was 11 of the Allegro's made. I got that from the original Supra Boats, owners son a few years ago. He did say they where made to order and not a full production boat. There maybe one or 2 more than that out there but he was pretty sure it was 11. He remembered my Allegro at the factory, when it was being built. He believes mine was a middle build number 5 or 6. I have a original sales flier with a Allegro in it. You can see some of the differences as far as interior and space depending on the engine that was in it.

Mine was a PCM 454, so I had less room around the rear bench. But if you had one with the Ford small block you had more room.

I don't think I would want one with the Ford Small block, even mine with the big block and the factory prop, she could struggle with take off if I was loaded down.

I'll post some pics of the flier when I get a chance.

Wow any chance you can post pictures of the flyer you have Mischief? Any chance you want to sell it?

I have the one Fuscanini has, it is the original 1983 Sale Flyer.

That Allegro pictured is either the No#1 or 2 built. It also came with the 351, it has more leg room along the back seat.

Sorry, haven't been on here in awhile. I will try to post much of the old stuff I have, but none are for sale. I have pristine brochures going back to 1982 and worry about trying to upload them in my scanner. I go way back with Supra like you but hope to preserve them just as I have done with my old Rider. Hope you understand.

I can understand not wanting to part with the sales flier. They are a rare item these days. I would love to be able to see them on here. Hope you can share.

Thanks

Yea last I heard it was still there. Its nice low hour boat, but the asking price was more than I wanted to spend. It has been sitting for a very long time. Would need quite a bit of work to bring up to lake ready status.

So if that one is too expensive, what are the odds of finding the other nine units that still remain (speculating nine still exist) and finding them in any better condition than this one?

Have any other leads on another one?

I love this thread. One mans search for his ultimate vessel that he once owned. Good luck with the search and I'll watch with interest. Oh, and If I ever see one down under, I'll let you know.

Call in "The Donald" to make a deal.

Man once owns boat.
Man looses boat.
Man searches for same boat.
Man finds boat.
?Man does not buy boat?

I get the money thing . . .

With 9 at most remaining, and the odds of all 9 other ~30 year old boats still around being fairly low, I'd say you may never come across another one. This may be the only one. Not a great negotiating position, but that's the way it goes with unobtainium. I'm a few hours from there, there are a couple other members a little closer. If you were serious about this one you can probably get some help in the area to check it out and coordinate things.

I agree, it is very hard search. I do know of one in Ohio, that fellow member here told me about. But i have been unable to reach the owners.

Silly question but have you tried to track down the mold for the top cap? If it's sitting in a warehouse somewhere in TN maybe you could try to buy it and make yourself a new top cap, then convert a SunSport that needs stringers anyway? Crazy idea maybe, but we are dealing with only 2 boats known to still exist out of a potential total of 9.

SUPRA_ALLEGRO_LANE
11-21-2017, 08:02 PM
That is a really good idea. I'm not 100% sure but I think it may have been lost in the Suora factory fire in the 90s. But your right it is worth checking out.

Cooose

Any luck with the mold for the top cap? You may be lucky and be able to get key dims to get a local guy to put together a mold, but will certainly be the poster child for law of diminishing returns.

Well another year has gone bye and still no other Allegro. Almost pulled the trigger on a couple project Supras, but none really sparked my interest. If anyone has seen or has a lead on a Allegro, let me know. Thanks
