22V Convert Ice Chest to Battery Compartment

Has anyone converted or heard of converting the under observer seat ice chest into a battery compartment? I'm about to replace and remount the dual batteries in the observer seat back compartment. Maybe relocate and remount the amps too and thought getting the batteries out of there would be best. Except for the sawing fiberglass while wondering what I'll find underneath part!

Where are the batteries located now?

They are all the way forward in the compartment behind the observer seat. Where you have to lay on your belly half through the opening with outstretched arms to get at them, can you tell why I want to move them? And I'd like to use that area for storing other stuff.
