Using a Wake Shaper

Just got a wake shaper from the Supra dealer and heading out with it tomorrow. Just wondered if anyone has used one on a 24ssv and has any tips on where to start with placement? I already showed how little I know about it when I learned it should go on the non-surf side?!?

Placement is on the non-surf side.
In the water at the waterline. Not too low or high.
Decals might cause it to fall off sometime.
I have used it far back on the hull.

Try 100% surf and 75% non-site for ballast lockers.
Some run it 100/100.

Adjust as needed. People sitting. Front weight. Ballast locker weight.

Speed 10.5 +/-
Test different speeds

This year the kids friends have been coming with us...and typical teenagers...they don't seem to understand that we have to move water for 20 minutes to switch from goofy to straight, only to have the next guy want it back to goofy.. It would be nice to be able to transfer the wave with a quick pop of the suction cups.

So normally close to the rear?

Dealer is correct in that statement. Are you still listing a lot of weight with your wake shaper?

Is that the shaper that looks like a skate-board ramp - like the Ronix Wake Shaper?
Most people are using the suction cup style.

I put mine the farthest back I can, Other might place it 1-3' from the back. Not sure it makes that much of difference.
But if you put the shaper too deep, it does not give you the affect.

I use everything I got with wakeshaper. 2200 lbs in rear, 600 up front.
Takes two minutes to swap from standard to goofy.

I mount on rear far back as I can, low as I can go.

Listing the boat over gets old. Did that a few times before I bought wakeshaper.
Looking at adding another sac but love the wakeshaper.

My speed is 10.7 - 11 mph for good wake depending on surfer.

Thanks guys. It's been raining all week. Then between Harvey and school starting we never got the boat out to try the shaper.

You just have to experiment. Further from the back corner of the boat delays the water less. Towards the back corner delays it more.

Since youre a big boat, try as close to the back corner as you can get. Play with the depth to get it to be usable in delaying the wake

Attest to as far back and low as you can get it on the opposite side 100% surf side 75% non-surf. We have the mission delta and the difference it makes is amazing. If you get it too far forward not only does the wave suffer but it will funnel all the water into/onto your boat.

Well, finally got to use it. Huge improvement. We have always had a strong wave, but with a small usable area. The shaper at least doubled the surfable wake.

Only thing is that on our hull the shaper is about 1/2 out of the water at rest. The shape of our side hull will not allow it to go down any further. So it is working well, but I have to wonder how much better it would if we could lower it a little farther?!?

How os it when under way? Is it still half out of the water?

If you could get it lower, it would make the pocket longer but take away push/height
