Hello, I recently replaced my 91 supra impulse with a 92 supra comp. The steering is very loose, it has about 15-20 degrees of play in the wheel. I did a quick visual inspection of the components and it seems like a majority of it is coming from the tilt mechanism. I also found a fair amount of side to side play in the rudder. I have a few questions:
1) Has anyone ever rebuild the tilt mechanism? know where to find parts?
2) does anyone know what type of rudder port these boats have? and where to buy a rebuild kit
The steering cable clamp (at the back of the boat) looks to be ok but I will inspect it closer, that's an easy part to find if needed. I plan to inspect the entire system this week and pull it all apart to rebuild. any input would be great.
thanks
