I am considering adding some sound reduction liner like Kilmat to the inside of the doghouse on 2000 Launch direct drive. Wondering if anyone has done this to reduce the engine noise. Not sure how much it would reduce the engine noise. An FAE definetly would reduce it but looking for a more economical solution.

My major concern is the material holding in the heat and creating problems.

Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

Interested if you tried or not. Wouldn’t mind doing something myself if it works good

Some posters have used PVC pipes to build an FAE style solution. Doghouse lining may not do much if the exhaust is the main culprit.
