I have an 86' Comp and am looking to get a new prop, I heard Acme was the best. I am a barefooter and I am trying to get the max speed out of the boat. Any suggestions on blades, pitch or brand to make this happen.

Both ACME and OJProps make good CNC props. We need to know what engine, HP, transmission and the specs on the current prop.

What top speed do you currently get at WOT (wide open throttle) and at what RPM?

How much speed do you need out of it?

I have the PCM 351. I dont know the exact horspower or the transmission. I don't believe any of it has been updated since the factory. I have seen 41mph a few times, however after a recent prop refurbishing the best I can do pulling a footer on the boom is about 38mph. I am looking to get as much speed as possible i would love to see 43-44mph if at all possible. my current prop is a Michigan 13x13 .080.

Top speed @ WOT without a skier is about 39mph running 4550rpm.

Submit a request from this site and see what they have to say. http://www.acmemarine.com/contact_us.php

My best guess would be a CNC 3blade 13x13 with the same .080 cup or maybe a 13x12 with .110 or .130 cup. I would take ACME's advice over mine though.

Regardless, you will notice a WORLD of difference moving from the michigan wheel forged prop to a CNC prop from ACME or OJ. I went to an OJ CNC 4-blade from my forged 14x16 3blade OJ legend and it felt like a completely different boat. There's really no way to describe how much smoother it was.
