My pylon was damaged by previous owner. How hard is it to replace? I assume it’s anchored to the keel but haven’t examined the connection.

There is a steel H bracket bolted to the main stringers the pylon is inserted into the frame and uses 4 set screws to hold it in. Here is the bad newes its probably rusted in and you will have to remove the entire frame and pylon assb. Then you may be able to get them apart . It won't be easy and you will have to remove a section of the floor and carpet .

Or, you can try and cut a relief line in the back of the bracket like I did and get it out. Though you then have to weld it back together again but what Michael Hunter said is most likely true.

Thanks much. The pylon is rock solid and doesn't wobble/give, but the base near the carpet was clearly impacted/damaged. Will have a look below deck to see what the situation is.
