Put a new Holly carb on it. It ideals. As soon as I put a load on it it stalls. Once I do get it running and running at 35 mph. Then give more gas it hesitation.

Sounds like an accelerator pump issue off-hand.

What size Holly? Is it Brand new or new to you? Fuel pressure? Most definitely sounds like a fuel enrichment issue and or timing.

Sounds like the pump to me ... mine acted the same way, then got progressively worse. It's an '86
