View Full Version : 1992 Supra ski platform question
I’m in the process of rebuilding the ski platform/Deck off of my Supra. I just finished gutting all of the rotted wood on the inside of the fiberglass shell. My question is, what is the best way to remove the 2 black adhesive anti slip pads on the top of the deck?

Have you tried a heat gun?
I have not tried a heat gun. I was trying to get ideas of how to remove it before I get there. I just stripped out the core. Still need to do some sanding. Then, it’s onto fiberglass work.

Well, bad news. The further I clean this old, fiberglass out I’m finding dead spots.. I’m hoping by today the sanding portion will be done and I can move onto Fiberglass layering tomorrow.

Heat gun and elbow grease !!!!!! Thoses pads are pita to remove , Orange base disolvant to get rid of the glue ! Fiberglass doesnt look that bad!
Does anyone know what the grey silicone like coating is that Supra used on the bottom of these decks?
Sanded out the bad fiber glass.
Put down a base coat of resin.
Sanded the bottom.
Put peanut butter around the sides to level everything out.
Re-formed the corners.
Sanded it all again.
Put resin down, sheet, more resin, seated the wood and clamped for curing.
