got a question about the rudder in my 86 comp. its leaking water out the top and into the bilge. it doesn't appear to be worn out in any way. i can rock it front to back, side to side, and up and down, and it moves only a millimeter or so in any of those directions. its the original rudder and has 1 grease fitting on it. when i pumped it full of grease the excess came out the bottom.
i'm wondering if its set up with some kind of o-ring or seal to keep the grease in and water out. SKIDIM doesn't seem to know anything. they sell a seal kit for their aftermarket rudder which won't work in this one. so unless this rudder needs a simple O-ring, i won't know what to do.
