I'm looking to add 2 MPH to my current top speed of 42 MPH. I'd love to get to 44-45 MPH but i don't know if it's possible... Acme is telling me I may gain 1/2 MPH with a Reverse output 1442 larger prop but not sure that is worth the additional investment. Any other suggestions? I appreciate any direction or insight that you could provide - Thank you

1989 Supra Comp
Ford 351 – Windsor Engine
Reverse output (I think)
Transmission is the 1.23:1
4200 RPM’s fully open with current Acme propeller set up
42MPH Top Speed with Current Acme propeller set up
Current Prop: Acme 598 13 x 14V R1 37M

Are you trying to barefoot? 42MPH is plenty fast for these hull types. I know mine can hit 44-45 but those last few MPHs get rather “exciting.”

You can try waxing the bottom . Overtons used to sell a super slick wax for hull bottoms, It is very tough to get those last couple MPH.

Yes, 42 MPH is fast enough to barefoot for me but 1 or 2 MPH would be more comfortable for one foots. I do understand the "exciting" part of 44-45 MPH... When I stand up the speed will drop to 42 or 43 MPH which is where I would really like to be.

Thanks, I'll take a look at this option...

I put some GT-40P heads, a Performer RPM manifold, and Pertronix ignition, on mine and I gasket matched the mating surfaces.
Got it up to 44-45 mph, not much gain, but it really sounds good!
