Boiler with a Supra

Just got a used barefoot boom to help with training new skiers who come to the lake. I have an issue. The clamp fixture it cam with will not fit over the "T" section on the top of my pylon. Anybody run in to this? Solutions. I have been consulted on hacksawing the "t" off. I hate to do this when the boat is pristine. Option two is remove the pylon and insert from the bottom. First not sure how easy it be to remove and secondly, I am not sure the clamp will slide over that large of circumference at the bottom. Sincerely wanting a great trainer, but not if I have to tear up my boat to do so.
