View Full Version : Oil pressure/temp/volt gauge read 0.0 no start

I have a 2008 Supra launch worlds edition. I had a bad connection to the starter. Like an idiot I did not disconnect the battery when fixing and arked it. Now when I turn the key to on my gauges turn on but all read 0. and my fuel pump gets no power. Engine will turn over but no fuel to start. I checked all fuses that I could find even the rear engine mounted fuses. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you.

How did you check the fuses?

I pulled them out and looked at them.

What about the large 50a resettable CB usually located near the ECM?

Are these what you are referring to?

Pretty sure that's what he's talking about. You may want to check those fuses with a meter. I've had them blow where you couldn't see it in the transparent window, but the meter showed it open.

Fuses are good just to double check I replaced all three. Still no go.

Do you have 12v at the fuel pump with the key on?

Maybe check the ignition switch??

About your gauges reading zero. Do you have analogue guages? I’m very interested in trying to help you troubleshoot this. Power to back of gauges? If not . Dive deeper.
Fuel pump has a relay or contact I believe that comes from the ecm. Check that for possible no fuel pump. Any present voltage at pump?

No voltage at the pump and just replaced the key module, still same problem.. I have a multimeter tester but wouldn’t know how to test a relay.

Do you have power on both sides of the fuel pump fuse with it installed in the fuse block? If the fuse is not the type you can probe, you can pull the fuse and check to see if you have 12V on one side of the socket. I am looking for a wiring diagram for your boat. Do you have one? If you have 12V at the fuse then you the circuit is open somewhere in between. That's why we need a diagram, or you get to trace wires.

I was going to call skiers choice for a diagram tomorrow morning. Hoping it’s not the ECM..

I was unable to get a wiring diagram. Is there a way to test the ECM/ECU my self?

Tested relays and they are good but not getting power.

Excellent. Where does power to them come from? ECM or key switch? Can you see what color the trigger wires are and where they go?

It does not appear that they go to the ECM but are damn near impossible to to follow. Skiers Choice said they are not aloud to give me a wire diagram but a dealer may give it to me. I am waiting on a few calls back to see if one will hand it over. I just don’t want to start ripping wires out of harnesses without it. I feel I would make it worse.

Can't argue with your plan. [emoji1360]

The ECM was toast... I sent it in to the link below because skiers choice does not make it anymore. This guy is great. Will diagnose and fix for under $200 if possible. In my case he had to replace and program to fit year/make/model. Total for replacement was $900 which was $1000 cheaper than anything else I found online. Side note which I’m sure most of you know but if it happens to you there are a lot of ECM’s that match but it must be programmed for your boat.
